The Manchester Hub has just been awarded a Green Apple Environment Award 2022.

The Manchester Hub local team has collaborated with NG Bailey (M&E supplier) and BMSI (BMS contractor) to achieve substantial savings since the Hub was launched in January 2020.

The aim across the Manchester Hub is to reduce unnecessary energy consumption whilst improving the conditioning of internal spaces and monitoring of air quality to create an energy efficient and comfortable space for its occupiers

Some of our most successful results are:

  • 4% decrease in electricity and a 52.1% reduction in gas consumption at 201 Deansgate compared to 2019
  • 2% decrease in electricity at 40 Spring Gardens compared to 2019
  • 6% decrease in electricity and a 16.5% reduction in gas consumption at 11 Portland Street compared to 2019
  • Total carbon savings of 765 tCO2e across all sites
  • Identified savings at 40 Spring Gardens of £18,400 as part of the smart buildings programme
  • An energy efficient commissioning phase enabling avoided energy costs of £19,100 so far at 11 York Street
  • Improved visibility over air quality at 55 Spring Gardens
  • Improvements in space temperature management leading to benefits in occupier comfort
